Construction Standard of Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
I. Basic Requirements
Critical illness medicine departments must be established in tertiary hospitals and secondary hospitals where conditions permit. Critical illness medicine departments belong to clinical secondary disciplines and must be independent medical units. As the clinical base of this subject, ICU ward must be equipped with specially trained and full-time medical and nursing personnel, master the basic knowledge and basic operation technology of critical medicine, and have independent working ability. It must be equipped with necessary monitoring and treatment equipment to receive critical patients from various departments of the hospital.
II. Bed Setting
The total number of ICU beds accounts for 2-5% of the total number of hospital beds. 6-12 beds are suitable for each ICU medical unit.
Staffing
The ratio of the number of ICU doctors to the number of beds is more than 1:1. ICU routine work may include some rotatory and refresher physicians, but specialists in critical diseases must account for more than 60%. The ratio of the number of ICU specialist nurses to the number of beds is more than 2.5:1.
IV. Standards for ward construction
(1) ICU should be located in an area convenient for patients to transport, examine and treat.
(2) ICU room area per bed is 12-16 M2; Zui is less equipped with a single ward, area is 18-25 M2.
(3) The basic rooms of ICU include doctor's office, nurse's workstation, treatment room, dispensing room, instrument room, dressing room, cleaning room, sewage treatment room, duty room, toilet, etc. Conditional ICU can be equipped with other rooms, including laboratories, demonstration classrooms, family reception rooms, nutrition preparation rooms, etc.
(4) ICU should have good ventilation and lighting conditions, and install enough inductive hand washing facilities. The conditional Zui is good at assembling air purification system from top to bottom, which can independently control indoor temperature and humidity. It can be equipped with 1-2 negative pressure wards.
(5) The ICU should have a reasonable medical flow, including people flow and logistics, in order to minimize all kinds of interference and cross-infection by zui.
(6) The function design of ICU ward must consider the retrofittability.
