II. Chemical Monitoring of Sterilization Process
1. Out-of-package chemical monitoring: even using process chemical indicators, such as indicator tape, indicator label, etc. It sticks to the outside of each package to be sterilized, and can judge whether the package has passed through the sterilization process. When the tape becomes uniform dark brown or black and does not loosen, it can be released, and the sterilized articles that are not qualified for chemical monitoring outside the package are eliminated.
2. Chemistry monitoring inside the package: that is, the indicator card inside the package, which can understand whether the sterilization requirements are met in the package. It shows that the general discoloration time of the sterilizer has penetrated into the package is the same as that of the biological indicator (121 8 - 12 minutes). The chemical indicator card which can not only show the temperature but also indicate the duration of the temperature is placed in the center of each package to be sterilized. When the color changes to the prescribed conditions, the sterilization package can be considered qualified. Sterilization articles that are not qualified for chemical monitoring in the package shall not be used, and the reasons shall be analyzed and improved until the monitoring results meet the requirements.
III. Biological Monitoring of Sterilization Process
Standardized strains (Bacillus thermophilus) are used to test whether the whole load meets the requirements of sterilization. Biological monitoring is a monitoring method to directly verify the sterilization effect by microorganisms, and it is also an important monitoring method to reflect the sterilization effect of zui. It simulates the actual inactivation process, which is more difficult than the actual load. It synthesizes all the sterilization parameters and can reflect the minor failure. It can deduce and calculate the sterility level of 10-6. Therefore, biological monitoring is the gold standard of sterilization guarantee and risk control.
After the physical monitoring and chemical monitoring are passed, the biological monitoring should be continuously monitored three times without load, and the sterilizer can only be used after passing the qualification. The monitoring method should meet the relevant requirements of GB18278. For small pressure steam sterilizer and biological monitoring, it should be continuously monitored three times at full load, and the sterilizer can only be used after passing the standard. Pre-vacuum (including pulsating vacuum) pressure steam sterilizer should be tested for BD and repeated three times. After continuous monitoring is qualified, the sterilizer can be used. All positive spores are considered to indicate a malfunction of the sterilizer, and reusable medical items handled by the sterilizer are considered to be non-sterile and should be recalled and reprocessed whenever possible, from the last negative result to the next satisfactory biological monitoring result.
